Sky Ride York is back!
Join thousands of other cyclists as we take to the streets for a fantastic traffic-free bike ride through the city. Get a different perspective on York from two wheels, on a special route passing some of its most iconic landmarks.
With loads of free things to do and try out on the day, including the ‘Tricks & Tunes’ area and our friendly Ride Social Café, we’re rolling out a real festival atmosphere. This year Rollapaluza will be rolling up in Rowntree Park to give riders the chance to battle it out on a pair of custom-built rollers.
Visit the Rebel Kitchen Mylk Stop to pick up a free drink (dairy-free coconut mylks made with love), play games and win prizes.
Register for Sky Ride York and you’ll be entitled to a free expert bike check (worth £14.99) at Halfords. You’ll also be able to collect a free Sky Ride reflective bib on the day.
You will be able to borrow a bike free of charge for up to 75 minuets at this years Sky Ride event. We have a range of bikes for all ages and new to this year our adaptive cycles, meeting the needs of all.
Simply come along to Rowntree Park with a piece of photographic identification to borrow one of our bikes. Bikes are available subject to availability.
During Sky Ride York, the following roads will be closed to traffic between 09:00 – 18:00.

St Sampson’s Square
Great Shambles Little
(a) Road closure between 06:00 hours and 18:00 at The Eye of York and Leeman Road
between its junctions with Station Rise and Station Avenue
(b) The prohibition on vehicles proceeding on Station Road, Lendal Bridge, Museum
Street will only affect vehicles proceeding in the north east bound traffic lane of the
(c) Temporary traffic lights will control vehicle and pedestrian movements in the
(i) on Tower Street
(ii) between Piccadilly and The Stonebow via Pavement
(iii) from Piccadilly into Tower Street
