Who organises Social Cycling Groups rides?
Rides are organised by members of the public who want to go on informal bike rides with other cyclists. Social Cycling Groups rides are not organised by British Cycling, or led by British Cycling Ride Leaders.
Do I need to fill in my profile?
Yes. If you don't add ride preferences, a photo and a brief description to your profile, you'll be less likely to find or be found by suitable ride buddies.
Can I book places on rides for my partner / friend?
No – as Social Cycling Groups is a social network, each user must have their own account and profile to join rides and groups.
How do I access my dashboard?
When you log in you'll be sent directly to your dashboard. If you navigate away from it and need to get back, just click ‘Dashboard’ next to your name in the top right hand corner of the screen.
How do I find buddies and groups near where I live?
Go to your dashboard and click on the ‘Buddies’ or ‘Groups’ tabs. Click on ‘Find a new buddy’ or ‘Find a new group’ and search with your location.
How do I talk to my new cycling buddies?
Every ride or group has a ‘Conversations’ tab. Just join (or create) a ride or group to start chatting to others.
How do I create groups and rides?
In your dashboard, go to either your ‘Ride Diary’ to create a ride or the ‘Groups’ tab to create a group.
How do I invite people to join my rides and groups?
You can send direct invites to people you are buddies with to join your rides and groups. If you've created a ride, you'll have an option to 'save and invite buddies'. Or in your 'Groups' tab, click 'Invite buddies'.
