Women only Breeze Rides are all about fun, friendly, informal bike rides led by women, for women. They're ideal for all abilities and are great for building confidence and getting some gentle exercise. You might not have ridden a bike for a while and be looking for the easiest way to get back in the saddle, or be looking for a sociable way of getting out and about in your local area. Breeze rides are gently-paced, not too long, and often take in a stop for coffee or a cake. Kids are welcome to come along too.

Overall Duration On a long ride, it’s sometimes good to have a little break in the middle, or maybe a catch up at the beginning or end to keep it sociable. This means that the overall ride duration may be longer than the actual cycling time.

Breeze Bike Rides in High Peak

This is a ride which includes bike hire if necessary at the Bike Garage. Cycle from Bamford to Ladybower Dam on cycle paths then join the Derwent cycle route to Fairholmes centre.  Ladies travelling from Sheffield could arrange to meet at on the A57 at the start of the Derwent section.  This ride is suitable for ladies who are keen to ride and experienced on paths and short section of roads.  If you decide to join us please be aware that riding in very heavy rain/flooding is not pleasant and the ride could change to a low level ride to Castleton/Bradwell/hope on the day.  There will be opportunities to buy/stop for lunch although a packed lunch may be appropriate.

Meet the Champions

  • Angie Farrant Angie Farrant Hi I am Angie in my late 50's. I cycle for pleasure and fitness. I like to socialise and I am looking to encourage women of all ages to get healthy and fitter. It is no to lycra and workout, if you enjoy the burn type of ride then my rides are not for you!

    If you just want to learn to ride on tracks or traffic then get in touch and I will assess your needs and arrange a ride that is suitable to get you going. I live in the Peak District and find the hills hard so we walk when we have to and pick rides we can cover comfortably.

    We stop to look at scenery take photographs chat and eat. I cycle to the slowest and it is not a race. I will advise you on how to ride safely and will only go on quiet roads for a short distance to build your confidence. I choose rides that will get you going and you can choose your level. I am prepared to meet at various places to meet the requirements of the ladies who want to join me.

    I also encourage the use of electric bikes, hiring bikes to make getting out easier. Electric bikes have to be cycled and any assistance helps the reluctant cyclist to go out safely. More on that if you are interested. Get fit electric bike it is one of my belief.

    Any socialising and exercise is good. I cycle currently with Women on Wheels and liaise with Pedal Peak district. Cyclists range in age from late teens to 70+.
