Breeze Bike Rides in Solihull

A pretty 12 mile circular ride from Earlswood Lake Craft Centre out towards Lapworth via Dorridge, through the grounds of the historic National Trust property, Packwood House, before heading back to Earlswood, via Hockley Heath.

This ride is mainly on quiet lanes and we will ride at 9-10 miles per hour (medium pace). Suitable for ladies who are already confident riding on the road and want to increase their distances for fitness and pleasure. The route is suitable for road, hybrid or mountain bikes.

Please meet at the Craft Centre for a prompt 10.30am start. There is free parking at the Craft Centre.  At the end of the ride there will be an opportunity for those that want, to enjoy a warming coffee and maybe some delicious cake at the Craft Centre!  

Please bring a spare inner tube, some change for coffee and ensure your bike is fully maintained for winter riding.

Meet the Champions

• Siobhan Scanlon Hi,
  
  I did my first Sky Ride in July 2010 in Birmingham and then discovered Breeze rides in June 2011 when I discovered them by accident. After falling out of love with the gym, I was trying to fit more cycling into my life and it was proving difficult, with work and family stuff!
  
  Through the Breeze rides. I have made some great cycling buddies, and we have enjoyed some wonderful rides out, evenings and weekends to a variety of local destinations. I enjoy the levels of rides on offer, which I can match to my fitness levels and other commitments.
  
  This year I am planning to lead some rides as a Sky Leader and looking forward to planning some new routes in and around Solihull and Warwickshire. I completed my first 100k ride last May and this year aim to cycle at least 2013 miles, and have entered some local audaxes and Sportives to help build up the mileage.
  
  Long term the plan is to do a Coast to coast ride in the near future. Its official I am now a cycling addict!
• Julie Harvey Hi, my name is Julie I have enjoyed cycling for many years. I have been on some lovely family cycling holidays to Holland and last year cycled around Lake Constance in Switzerland, Austria & Germany, which was beautiful!
  I love to be outside in the fresh air particularly after a day in the office. I really love the freedom of getting out on my bike, I discovered Breeze last July & have become completely hooked, I love everything about Breeze.
  I have met some wonderful like minded ladies & made some lovely friends, we progressed together last summer and in October we had our first cycling weekend away together, we covered 100 miles in 2 days. We are now planning another challenge for this year. I decided to train to become a Breeze champion because I want to help other ladies discover the joy of Breeze, we are lucky to have some beautiful countryside & lots of lovely quiet lanes around Solihull. Oh and there is ALWAYS cake and a cuppa at the end of our rides! So if you like cycling, chatting and cake then Breeze is for you! So whatever your cycling ability come and join us for a fun, friendly bike ride.
