Breeze Bike Rides in Glasgow

This is a gentle route, suitable for all ages to enjoy. With the school holidays almost over this could be something a little different to enjoy.

We will meet at the entrance to Overtoun Park on Overtoun Drive, nearest entrance to the Health Centre.

From here we will make our way along cycle route 756 to Glasgow Green. This will take us along shared use paths on Mill Street. Near Shawfield we will go across the new bridge, taking us on to cycle route 75 alongside the River Clyde to Glasgow Green.

Once in Glasgow Greeen we will make our way to the play park beside Freewheel North, where we can rest and kids can play for a short period.

We will then return to Rutherglen, once again using cycle routes.

The route will be mainly on paths, a short section at the start and finish uses roads, we will cross roads at designated crossings only.

The listing will indicate that it is suitable for women and children. Dads are also welcome to join the ride.

Helmets are compulsory for under 18 and optional, but recommended for adults.

  • Jill Morton
Jill Morton I am a keen cyclist. I enjoy a bit of touring on the bike as well as seeking out come hills on my road bike, on another day i am happy to take it easy and pack up the picnic for a leisure ride. All disciplines have their place on the right day, well except mountain bikes :) I enjoy nothing more than getting a new cyclist out on their bike and gaining confidence to enjoy cycling as much as I do.
  • Fiona Welsh
Fiona Welsh I've been cycling for a year now and I'm hooked. Although like many Mums find it hard to make the time I started going out on the bike by myself and then I joined SKY group rides around Glasgow and loved it. I am looking forward to encouraging others and helping to establish cycling social networks by being a ride leader. Not enough time in my week for cycling. I've just bought my first road bike (:
