Breeze Bike Rides in Kirklees

I'm Kate and I'd love it if you could join me on a pootle on the Birkby Bradley Greenway to Mirfield to enjoy a cuppa and a slice of cake. We'll set off from the beginning of the greenway in Birkby and stay on this traffic-free cycle way to Leeds Road at Bradley. There we will cross over and join the traffic-free path again through the industrial estate, over the viaduct and off to Mirfield.

Once we get to Mirfield we'll park up and pop into a nearby cafe for a relaxing coffee and a chat. And a slice of cake of course!

The route itself is mainly on traffic-free cycle paths and is mostly flat, with just a couple of small hills, which we can push our bikes up very easily. We won't be attempting any speed records on this ride - everything will be nicely paced and there's just a little bit on the road going into Mirfield, but these are side roads and we'll only be on them for a matter of minutes. I hope you'll be able to join me as this ride is perfect for anyone who just wants to get out and about on their bike without having to do too much road riding.

As it is Feb, please bring a few layers to warm you up or cool you down, some gloves and waterproofs if you have them. Please also bring some water with you as the ride will be around an hour each way. I will bring a couple of bike locks but if you have your own, then the more the merrier.

My mobile number is 07930 273990 - please give me a call if you have any queries.

Hope to see you on the day!

  • Kate Duckett
Kate Duckett When I started cycling just a few years ago, I couldn't even get up even the smallest, shortest of hills. But I loved every minute that I was cycling and just wanted to do more and more of it. Now I cycle to work, to the shops or just for the sheer pleasure of it. I love all the Greenways and National Cycle Network routes and am keen to help people of all abilities get the most out of the type of cycling they want to do. I'll be leading mostly easygoing or steady rides on flat, traffic free or quiet routes, so no matter if you've hardly done any riding before or if you're keen to get more confident on your bike, there'll be a ride that's right for you. I'm looking forward to meeting loads of people who are keen to get on their bikes as I am, so please book onto a ride near you and give it a go.
  • Kirstan Williams
Kirstan Williams My name is Kirstan and I recently qualified as a Breeze ride leader. I have been cycling for about 2 years due to the 'cant beat em join em' approach to my partner's bike obsession! In that time I've gone from a total novice incapable of changing gears or riding up anything other than a flat surface to now cycling almost daily and taking on walloping big hills. I became a ride leader as I want to help other women gain confidence and learn to enjoy cycling as much as I do :o)
