Breeze Bike Rides in Birmingham
Monday’s Main outing
Julie (Solihull Breeze) and myself (South Birmingham Breeze) have started putting on joint Monday outings and if you can’t join us on this ride, for whatever reason, but are interested and available for Monday rides in the future please contact one of us on the numbers below. We plan to build a programme of rides/outings based on the abilities and interests of the women who want to take part. Each ride will have a shorter version depending which of the 2 start points you choose. Hopefully all will become clear!
The main ride starting at 10am from Billesley Tennis Centre (Swanshurst School side of car park) will be 18-20 miles approx. This group will “pick up” the shorter version group(14 miles approx) who will meet with Julie and start at 10.15am from the Stratford Rd Main entrance to Shirley Park. .Our joint route will then take us out to explore the country lanes in and around Lapworth/Hockley Heath, taking in a tea/coffee and cake stop around the halfway point. IF YOU PLAN TO START/END YOUR RIDE WITH JULIE IN SHIRLEY PLEASE LOOK FOR AND BOOK “Monday’s Mini outing” on the website and do NOT book onto the main ride.
This ride is for everyone who enjoys cycling and wants to be among like minded women cycling at a relaxed pace, making new friends, exploring the surrounding areas and most importantly stopping for a cake and coffee at the half way point!
In fact if you have any ideas about what you would really like to happen on the ride then please come along and tell us about it. Basically, Julie and I just want to start up a regular Monday cycling ride, we both love cycling!
So, please join us and either book onto this ride if you want to start at Billesley at 10 o'clock, or book on the Monday Mini ride to start with Julie at 10.15 from Shirley Park.
Hybrid or Mountain bikes would be best as we’ll be using some canal paths, weather/mud permitting! Just remember to bring a spare inner tube and money for a cake!
Next week’s ride will be the other way round – main ride from Shirley picking up the shorter ride group from Billesley Tennis Centre and heading out towards Worcestshire/Warwickshire countryside.
We look forward to seeing you. Contact either of us if weather looks “iffy” on the day or to talk about Monday outings
