Breeze Bike Rides in Fylde

Longer Loop rides are designed to set you up for the week! If you have ever cycled alone or cycle on a regular basis, no matter how far back in the past, and you want to join a ride that won’t wear your brake-pads down whilst it won’t run away without you, join our Longer Loop. It’ll take you somewhere worth visiting, along good roads and paths, and bring you back feeling like you’ve worked hard.
You’ll need some money for a snack; typically under a fiver. Please also be sure to bring an extra windproof or waterproof layer and suncream (even in the winter)
NOTE: We advocate helmet wearing but it is your choice whether you wear a helmet or not. These are strictly Women Adults Only rides with the lowest female age bracket is set at 16 years.

Meet the Champions

  • Di Hickman Di Hickman Like most of us, I graduated through from trike to stabiliser-bike, finally emerging as a cyclist when my father let go of my saddle with one final push.

My bikes were hand-me-downs, and soon they took me far beyond the country lanes to the villages and towns I’d previously seen only from car windows.

What I like most about getting on my bike is the tangible nostalgia of childhood; the feeling of freedom, breathing, the wind my hair, and independence from everything. My bike isn’t just free, reliable transport, it’s a bond. On lone days out,my bike takes me along the 30km stretch of shoreline cycle-path that starts in Lytham and ends in Fleetwood – I still have a hotdog on the way! I catch the ferry over to Knott End and continue along the desolate wash of Cockerham.

That’s me. I'm 48, a Shropshire Lass, and I’d like to share my rides with anyone who wants to discover the inner secrets of Lancashire’s delights by bike. If you’re thinking you can’t ride, get in touch and tell me why – I think I can change your mind.

I’m particularly interested in anyone who feels they encounter a barrier that prevents them from cycling. Please get in touch if you:

    • haven’t touched a bike since you were young
    • don’t own a bike
    • don’t think you can ride
    • think weight might get in the way
    • are concerned about your ability to ride
    • Are worried about socialising
    • are deaf
    • don’t know how you’d start to approaching cycling but want to
