Overall Duration On a long ride, it’s sometimes good to have a little break in the middle, or maybe a catch up at the beginning or end to keep it sociable. This means that the overall ride duration may be longer than the actual cycling time.

Breeze Bike Rides in Dudley

This ride is just over 8 miles long and mainly along canal towpaths.  Initially, going downhill through a series of locks to Wordsley and then flatter towards Stourton.  We leave the towpath as it goes beneath the A449 and ride along a footpath for 100 metres or so before joining a feeder road to a residential area where the Willow Tea Rooms cafe will be our refreshment stop.

We shall return by retracing our route back to the Dell Stadium, being aware that the series of locks will now mean we have some short climbs to reach the finish.

As this ride is delivered through the charity of Age UK Dudley, we ask for a donation of £1.50 per rider.

Don’t forget…. Breeze are on a mission to spread the word about their rides, and need your help. If you introduce one friend who goes on to take part in a Breeze ride, you’ll receive a Breeze water bottle, introduce a second friend, you’ll be the proud owner of one of their swish Breeze Buffs, and introduce a third friend and Breeze will send you £15 of Love2Shop vouchers. Meet the Champions

  • Maggie Thompson
Maggie Thompson Been cycling since the age of 15 as a club rider with Evesham & District Wheelers. During 1970's raced to International level on road and track (Ladies National Pursuit Champion 1977 and 1978 and competed in World Championships). Now more interested in touring - in 2013 I completed Lands End to John O'Groats. What next .......?
  • Maureen Prosser
Maureen Prosser Hi I'm Maureen and I work for 'Leap over 50' at Age UK. We run regular rides for those wanting to meet new people, have fun and get fit. Look forward to seeing you soon!
  • Mary McAdam
Mary McAdam Hi, I'm Mary and I've always enjoyed cycling, whether it was wandering off to explore as a child, being a hard up student, a mum doing 'something different' with young children or trying to get some 'me' time. However, I was a fairweather-traffic free-slow rides only with lots of stops- cyclist who didn't understand the concept of changing gears (having driven automatic cars for many years) or that you could change the saddle on your bike if it was Really Uncomfortable... All that changed when I joined a local cycle club. With lots of help, advice and encouragement I have gained confidence and had many experiences and adventures (usually with overloaded panniers...). I'm now a Bikeability Instructor, I volunteer for the Leap Over 50 Cycling Programme with AgeUK in Dudley and best of all, I have an encyclopaedic knowledge of all the cafes within a 50 mile radius of Stourbridge! I'd like to encourage more women to get on their bikes; to improve their cycle skills so they can ride safely and confidently; to get to know the local area and most of all, to gain a fantastic circle of like-minded friends. All are welcome - from the Totally Terrified to the Extremely Experienced. Looking forward to seeing you soon!
