Meet the Champions

  • Debbie Martin
Debbie Martin Hi my name is Debbie Martin and I am a Breeze Champion for the Newbury area. I discovered mountain biking around 5 years ago when by husband dragged me out on a ride and I was instantly hooked on off road riding. I love being out in the countryside away from traffic. I became a Breeze Champion so I could encourage more women onto bikes and particularly into mountain biking as it is quite male dominated and it would be good to have some female company out on those rides! My local stomping ground is Greenham Common but I also go to Swinley forest and Wales now and again and have travelled to the Pyrenees and Alps for summer mountain bike holidays. My other loves are skiing, surfing - not very well :O) and Yoga and I am about to give downhill mountain biking a go so wish me luck! Come along to one of our rides you never know you might just get the biking bug.
  • Heather Cater
Heather Cater Hello, I love cycling, of all types on all bikes and have done since I was little. Whether its on road or off road or both. I used to take my girls bike out onto the local BMX track! I also love exploring and finding new routes, and being on a bike means I get to explore even further. I'd love to share my bike rides with other ladies and encourage more people to get out there on their bikes and see the countryside. We have the best cycling environment in Newbury with Greenham Common on one side, the Ridgeway just to the North and the Kennet and Avon Canal in the middle. Something for everyone, whatever the weather. I hope you can join me.
