Overall Duration On a long ride, it’s sometimes good to have a little break in the middle, or maybe a catch up at the beginning or end to keep it sociable. This means that the overall ride duration may be longer than the actual cycling time.

Breeze Bike Rides in High Peak

Join me for a gentle ride along the traffic-free Sett Valley Trail, which follows the route of the former railway from New Mills to Hayfield. After riding along the tree-lined route with views up to Lantern Pike we’ll stop for tea and cake at a lovely cafe in Hayfield (Rosie's) before returning via the same route.
You'll need a roadworthy bike, a helmet, comfortable clothing and shoes plus a waterproof jacket. Please bring some money for the cafe (or your own refreshements) and a bike lock, if you have one.
There are regular trains from Sheffield/Manchester to New Mills Central station. Parking is available in the leisure centre car park or opposite the car park on Hyde Bank Road.
Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to allow time for bike checks and introductions. We will set off at 10.30am.

Don’t forget…. Breeze are on a mission to spread the word about their rides, and need your help. If you introduce one friend who goes on to take part in a Breeze ride, you’ll receive a Breeze water bottle, introduce a second friend, you’ll be the proud owner of one of their swish Breeze Buffs, and introduce a third friend and Breeze will send you £15 of Love2Shop vouchers. Meet the Champions

  • Emma Lawrence
Emma Lawrence I started cycling 3 years ago, partly because I'd injured my knee (running) and also because I was involved in various environmental campaigns and needed to put my money where my mouth was by using my car less. I was put off by the hills at first, but started slowly, making short local trips or riding on quiet trails. Now I'm a little bit bike mad and ride whenever I can -- off road, on road, to the shops, to work, with family and friends, you name it. I'm fitter and stronger now than I probably ever have been as an adult, and I put it all down to the addictive powers of cycling (and a bit of yoga too). For me the social side an important factor and is probably the reason I'm still doing it, so being a Breeze ride gives me the chance to share my enthusiasm for cycling with others and gets me out on my bike too.
