Breeze Bike Rides in St. Helens
This is a short and mostly traffic free route to the former Sutton Manor Colliery, and home to the 20 meter high 'Dream' sculpture by Jaume Plensa.
It’s a lovely ride through green fields and the re-landscaped colliery which has been planted with woodlands and wildflowers covering 230 acres, and is now home to a diverse range of wildlife.
The route into Sutton Manor is fairly flat and is rated Easygoing - but there is a steep hill at the end to get to the summit and the Dream sculpture - dont let that put you off though, if it’s too steep we can get off and walk and then have a well-earned rest at the top!
On a clear day there are great views across the Cheshire and Lancashire plains, out to the mountains of Snowdonia, the Pennines, the Peak District, and some of Manchester's landmarks!
Helmets must be worn by all under 18's regardless of ride level.
Younger children must be in a BSA approved child seat, trailer or tag-a-long, older children on their own bikes must be able to ride confidently without stabilisers.
Please bring along a puncture repair kit/spare inner tube - ride leaders will try and help you out, but are not responsible for your bike.
We really welcome new riders, bring a friend or come on your own - don't worry if you don't know anyone, we're a friendly bunch. It’s a great way to get back on your bike and join like-minded women, get fit and make some new friends along the way; we always ride at the pace of the slowest rider so no one is left behind!
Look forward to meeting you.
Don’t forget…. Breeze are on a mission to spread the word about their rides, and need your help. If you introduce one friend who goes on to take part in a Breeze ride, you’ll receive a Breeze water bottle, introduce a second friend, you’ll be the proud owner of one of their swish Breeze Buffs, and introduce a third friend and Breeze will send you £15 of Love2Shop vouchers.
