Breeze Bike Rides in Blackpool

Our Evening rides are back by popular demand! The evenings are drawing out and it’s time to get some cycling in for the summer! The route will stick to the Promenade on cycle tracks and will vary between 10 - 18 miles. The route can be decided on the evening so we can determine head winds.

We will always have a coffee stop and a good chin wag along the way!

The temperatures are still on the cool side so make sure you wrap up warm with plenty of layers so you can take some off if you get too hot. Your lights will need lights, and it’s always a good idea to wear high viz clothing or jacket.

Take a drink with you for the journey and a camera for the fantastic sunsets we have here in Blackpool!

Wearing a helmet is advisable as we’ll be riding on roads; if you don’t have one please do not to worry you can still take part.  If you enjoy the bike ride and would like to come again perhaps you could look to buy one then.

We really welcome newcomers to our rides; we will always ride at the pace of the slowest rider so no one is left behind.

Look forward to seeing you there!

  • Victoria Easley
Victoria Easley Blackpool Breeze is now entering its second year and we have over 40 ladies that join us on leisurely rides.

My name is Vicky and I just love cycling! I enjoy leisure pootles and the long challenging cycles too. My aim is to get ladies out on their bikes and to join us to build confidence and meet new people so we can have group cycles around Blackpool and Fylde and Wyre.

For 2014 we are looking at having 2 separate groups as the ladies from last year have improved so much they like the challenging rides. The other group will now be for confidence building, social cycling and getting fit to move onto the challenging rides!!!

If you need any more information then drop me a quick email or visit our Facebook page Breeze Network Blackpool.

  • Di Hickman
Di Hickman Like most of us, I graduated through from trike to stabiliser-bike, finally emerging as a cyclist when my father let go of my saddle with one final push.

My bikes were hand-me-downs, and soon they took me far beyond the country lanes to the villages and towns I’d previously seen only from car windows.

What I like most about getting on my bike is the tangible nostalgia of childhood; the feeling of freedom, breathing, the wind my hair, and independence from everything. My bike isn’t just free, reliable transport, it’s a bond. On lone days out,my bike takes me along the 30km stretch of shoreline cycle-path that starts in Lytham and ends in Fleetwood – I still have a hotdog on the way! I catch the ferry over to Knott End and continue along the desolate wash of Cockerham.

That’s me. I'm 48, a Shropshire Lass, and I’d like to share my rides with anyone who wants to discover the inner secrets of Lancashire’s delights by bike. If you’re thinking you can’t ride, get in touch and tell me why – I think I can change your mind.

I’m particularly interested in anyone who feels they encounter a barrier that prevents them from cycling. Please get in touch if you:

    • haven’t touched a bike since you were young
    • don’t own a bike
    • don’t think you can ride
    • think weight might get in the way
    • are concerned about your ability to ride
    • Are worried about socialising
    • are deaf
    • don’t know how you’d start to approaching cycling but want to

If you have any questions please contact us at lytham.breeze@facebook.com

Look forward to seeing you there!
