Sky Ride Local in Richmond upon Thames

Not cycled for a while and looking for an easy way to get back in the saddle? Fancy a fun way to get your friends or kids riding? Our Easygoing rides are great for building confidence for all abilities and ages along relaxed, mostly traffic-free routes. They’re up to six miles long, with a gentle pace of around six miles an hour.

Meet the Ride Leaders

  • Marek Dziurman Marek Dziurman I am a Disabled rider and a recovering stammer I had suffered a stroke in 1976, first took interest when I did the sky ride in Hounslow in 2009. I hope to encourage other disabled riders along with able bodies to join in. I have had a total right knee replacement on 21/01/2011 and now recovering I am hoping to take part in some rides later this year but it all depends on what my doctors say and how well my recovery is going.
It has been a year now and I am back on my bike and have done 20 miles, 24 miles and riding to work. My progress is continuing and I am getting stronger and looking forward to doing as many Skyrides as I can. Recently I have done 31 miles with my replacement knee.
Got osteoarthritis in right shoulder and might need a replacement, recently had an injection 12/05/2014 Ostenil plus 7 days gone and there is some improvement. So let see what happens.

Rider Comments on the Route

  1. Chit Cheng Yeoh Saturday 29th June
Great ride, great leaders. Thx v much!
  2. Lauren Adderley Sunday 25th September
A lovely easy slow ride to get started. Very picturesque. Well led by a great team.
  3. Julee Kwiatkowski Monday 12th September
Nice leisurely ride along the river. Expect a little mud if it's been rainy.
  4. Peter James Leadbetter Monday 29th August
I can't recommend this ride at all. To put a whole hoard of Skyriders on a very narrow walkway of the Thames where people often walk with children and their pets is madness! I nearly came off when some guy had his dog of the lead then came running towards me giving me no choice but to take evasive action but it could have brought the whole group down. Also we came back through the walkway for the second then third time. Some folk walking were not happy bunnies at all.
