Epping Forest Trails half term special

Breeze Bike Rides in Waltham Forest

This special half term ride will introduce you to the bridleways of beautiful Epping Forest and is ideal for anyone who prefers to ride in a traffic free environment.  The ride will take us on a fairly flat route around the wider trails and bridleways although we may tackle a hill or two depending on the specific route.  If so, we will take our time and walk up if needed.

We will be stopping during the ride for tea and cake so bring some change or your own refreshments.

The bridleways can be a bit muddy throughout the year so come prepared with suitable clothing and footwear as well as a bike that is suitable for riding off road.  Children must wear a crash helmet to take part in the ride. The Breeze champion carries tools and will help if anyone has a puncture or mechanical issues but don't carry spare inner tubes so a spare suitable for your bike is useful to bring along. 

Please try to arrive before 10 am as we aim to leave promptly.

We really welcome newcomers to our rides; we will always ride at the pace of the slowest rider so no one is left behind.

Where to park: This is the public car park on the right if coming from Station Road (by Chingford Plain) between the cafe/golf course car park and the trees. It is approximately 1/2 mile from Chingford Station.

Meet the Champions

• Tracey Willcox When I was a teenager I got involved in cycling and joined a club. It was a great way the see the Essex lanes and make friends. In my twenties I bought a mountain bike and enjoyed cycling with friends in Epping Forest. I stopped cycling in my mid twenties. Then five years ago I changed jobs to a place where I couldn't park, so I decided to dig the bike out and cycle as it was only 3 miles. I have cycled most days and really enjoy my ride.
  An old friend of mine had become breeze bike ride leader, I joined her on a few rides, speaking to other friends about these rides made me realise a lot of people would like to go for a ride but either don't know where to go or are worried about cycling on the roads. The opportunity came up to be trained - so here we are!!
• Claire Townsend I have been riding on and off since I was a child but did not get into riding on a regular basis until I started doing Triathlons about 10 years ago. My Tri days are now over but my love of cycling has continued and I now really enjoy leading the Breeze rides as well as getting out on a Sunday morning on my road bike. I am also an NSI Cycle Instructor. Breeze rides are a great way to get out on a bike and we aim to be supportive and ensure that anyone who joins a ride has a great experience
