Breeze Bike Rides in Derbyshire Dales

This is a challenging ride for more experienced riders who are used to hills and riding on the road.

We'll meet in front of St Annes Church then head over the bridge and turn left. We then turn right onto Wheatlands Lane, select a low gear and grind our way up the hill! When the weather is fine, you do get spectacular views over the surrounding countryside and a fast downhill before another uphill into Hassop. We turn left and join Hassop Road along to the roundabout at Hassop Station where we turn left again and continue up to the main road. Then it's another left at the top followed by a right turn, to follow the road to Pilsley. There's a nice downhill to start followed by, oh yes, another short sharp uphill as we head towards Pilsley Village. We'll then turn left and go through the village then follow the back road down to the B6012 (main road through Chatsworth). It's then still mainly downhill back to the start.

Short and sweet but lots of effort required!

It's very chilly at the moment so wrap up warm and ideally have working lights on your bike.

Hope to see you soon.

Meet the Champions

  • Christine Dicken
Christine Dicken I've been riding on and off for about 12 years, initially for commuting and now purely for pleasure and exercise. I'm not the fastest or the fittest but I get there in the end and enjoy the journey! My cycling habits have been curtailed over the last few years following the birth of my son but I'm thrilled that he now has developed a love of cycling and I hope to help other women to enjoy cycling and encourage their children too.
