Overall Duration On a long ride, it’s sometimes good to have a little break in the middle, or maybe a catch up at the beginning or end to keep it sociable. This means that the overall ride duration may be longer than the actual cycling time.

Breeze Bike Rides in Leicester

If you're happy enough riding a bike but feel a bit rusty, or if you just fancy the chance to ride in a relaxed way with friends and family, then this beginners Breeze ride is just for you.

Ride Leicester Supports Wear It Red Day!

Three led rides will be facilitated by British Cycling Breeze Champions on this day.  This ride is from Evington Sports Centre and will follow a gentle route into Town Hall Square where tea, coffee and cake stalls will be available provided by British Heart Foundation volunteers. The other two rides leave from Cossington and Braunstone Leisure centres.

We recommend helmets for adults, but they’re not compulsory. Don’t worry if you don’t have a helmet – why not try a couple of rides and see how you get on? As the weather can be changeable at this time of the year it is wise to wear layers and don't forget your waterproof just in case. Other items to consider bringing along are a drink to keep you hydrated and a spare inner tube.

Hope to see you there.

Meet the Champions

  • Susan Doram
Susan Doram I have now been back on my bike for the past four years and I am enjoying it thoroughly, it's what weekends are meant for. I actually have Sky Ride local rides to thank for getting into the sport. I had always wanted to try a cycling group but was worried that I would be too slow or didn't have the right bike/gear etc. Cycling is always a great opportunity to get out into the fresh air, see some of our beautiful countryside, meet other riders and most importantly enjoy the much deserved tea and cakes after the ride :-)
  • Indigo Kelly
Indigo Kelly Hi, I really enjoy cycling as it makes me feel good. Whether I cycle for a few miles or loads of miles, it's just good to be out and about. I know it might sound cheesy BUT I love meeting new people and sharing stories - especially funny ones! Whether you are a beginner who would like to have a bit more confidence about getting on your bike or perhaps you are confident about cycling but don't like busy roads or maybe you just want to ride with like-minded women - come along and see what you think. Remember: you will receive a warm welcome and lots of encouragement the riders stick together so that no one gets left behind - we start and finish together the rides will be appropriate to ability levels and can be altered as needed I hope to see you at a ride - when you're ready. Kindest regards, Indi. :-) PS I am amazed to say that I recently completed John O'Groats to Lands End (931 miles in 13 days) and the pic shows me at JOG - keen to get going!

Maryam Amatullah Encouraging led rides is something I do on a regular basis in my role as a Cycling Instructor. It doesn't take long to reach Leicestershire's beautiful countryside. It's a fantastic way to explore the local environment, learn some routes, get some exercise, and simply enjoy cycling!
