Breeze Bike Rides in Bradford

Start your Easter holiday weekend with an exciting bike ride and Easter egg hunt.

After checking over our bikes and practising our skills in the park we will set off on the Canal Towpath from Saltaire and cycle to Bingley Five Rise Locks. There are a couple of short hills during the ride but you are welcome to push your bike up them. After a drink and a rest at Bingley we will return back on the canal to Robert's Park. As we cycle along the towpath we will stop at places where the Easter Bunny may have been before us and search for any hidden clues he has left us.

Suitable for all types of bikes and child trailers. It is essential that all children wear a bike helmet and you are advised to wear one too! Bring your waterproofs, a drink, a snack and a little money.

Free parking is available on Coach Road and Upper Coach Road.

By the bandstand above the Half Moon Cafe at Roberts Park, Saltaire.

Meet the Champions

  • Emily Groves
Emily Groves I work for Sustrans as the Bike It Officer for Bradford. My job involves getting children and their parents trained and excited about cycling. I am working with up to 12 local schools a year to make this happen across Bradford. I hope my Breeze Training will be a vital tool in achieving this.
  • Anna Shakoor-Green
Anna Shakoor-Green I started riding my bike again in 2011 after a long spell of inactivity; soon afterwards I came across the Breeze Ride Leader training course and jumped at the opportunity!. I love being on my bike and the freedom and buzz that it gives me (and I'm much fitter for it too!) In 2012 Breeze gave me the opportunity to train as a cycle instructor with British Cycling - something I had wanted to do for a long time. I now work as a cycle training instructor with West Yorkshire Go:Cycling - training people at all levels. In 2012 I also registered as a SkyRide assistant leader. I've set myself goals and targets over the last 2 years and have taken part in some long and difficult rides. My crowning achievement to date was to take part in the White Rose Classic in 2013, cycling 84 miles in the Yorkshire Dales on a blisteringly hot day in July (on a weighty Dawes Galaxy touring bike!) - and I went out an Ilkley CC ride the following morning! My personal goal for this year is to cycle the 980 miles from Land's End to John O'Groats - that'll be 14 days of cycling. I'll be carrying my own luggage along the route. Breeze has certainly given me the motivation to get back on my bike and get fit again! It's great to be able to encourage other women into cycling.
  • Natalie Whelan
Natalie Whelan Hello my name is Kate. I am a new Sky Ride Leader for Rotherham. I started riding a bike at a young age and have cycled throughout my life. I have had more bikes than cars! Last year I took part in a charity cycle ride for BHF in Vietnam and Cambodia. I want to inspire others to get back on their bikes for health and fun. Join me for Sky Rides in the Rotherham area.
