Meet the Ride Leaders

  • Jack Connah
Jack Connah I moved to London from a much hillier Cornwall four years ago, and got into cycling in a big way by commuting into work and back each day on my bicycle. Eventually, I moved on to riding longer weekend rides, then a road bike, and then last summer I cycled 900 miles from John O'Groats to Land's End in ten days, raising over £1,000 for charity and having an amazing time along the way. This year I rode the 'other' end-to-end ride from Dover to Durness, just about managing to avoid the worst of the June weather! Before becoming a ride leader I took part on a couple of Sky Rides and I think they're a great opportunity to get people involved with cycling and a good way to encourage more people to experience the thrill of two (or three!) wheels. There's nothing quite like the feeling of zipping down the outside of a traffic jam with the wind in your hair and I love every opportunity I have to get out and about on two wheels. Hope to see you out and about riding.
  • Andrew Payne
Andrew Payne I have been taking cycling fairly seriously since 2003 and have been a member of the Maidenhead and District Cycle club since that time. During the summer months I regularly take part in time trails of 10, 25, 50 & 100miles. In addition to Skyride leading (now in my 4th year), I'm also a British Cycling level 2 coach and a Bike-ability coach working at schools getting youngsters confident to ride to school. When time allows I'm also a cycling guide for a number of charity events like London to Paris rides I really enjoy the Sky Rides as they are far more social than most of the riding I do and its good to meet people interested in the less competitive end of the cycling spectrum. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone and having an enjoyable day out with good weather.
