A gentle Breeze to end 2012...

Breeze Bike Rides in Derbyshire Dales

It's the last ride of 2012 so why not take some time out of the festivities to get a bit of fresh air and exercise.

We'll set off from Parsley Hay on the High Peak Trail towards Sparklow. We leave the trail and take minor roads to the hamlet of Pilsbury. There are a couple of steep downhill sections so we'll make sure your brakes work before setting off!

The road then follows the valley into Hartington where we'll stop for a cuppa. What goes down needs to go back up so there is a steep uphill out of Hartington but we can push up this if needed. Don't let it put you off!! The road then levels off and we continue to the hamlet of Heathcote before joining the Tissington Trail and returning to Parsley Hay.

We'll ride at a nice steady pace, after all I'll probably have over-indulged over Christmas.

What better way to end the year than taking in some of the Peak District's glorious scenery and having a good old chinwag.

Wrap up warm, layers are better and remember gloves. Helmets are recommended but you can still come if you don't have one.

Don’t forget to bring some water, perhaps stash something from a selection box in your pocket and some money for the cafe stop.

I'm not the fastest or the fittest but I get there in the end and enjoy the journey! My cycling habits have been curtailed over the last few years following the birth of my son but I'm thrilled that he now has developed a love of cycling and I hope to help other women to enjoy cycling and encourage their children too.
