Breeze Bike Rides in Solihull

This charming country ride around the lanes and lakes of Earlswood will be just what we all need after the festivities to blow away the cobwebs.

We will cover just over 9 miles and see the lovely lakes at Earlswood as well as enjoying cycling around some pretty country lanes. Riding at a leisurely pace to 8-9 miles per hour, there will be time to appreciate the view as well as get some fresh air and exercise.

We will return to the Stables for a chat and a coffee for those that want to join us. The Stables are busy with lunches but have kindly agreed to let us have use of their Club Room with either some limited snacks or a roast lunch if you can manage it! I will contact you nearer the time to get an idea of your likely food requirements.

Elaine and I hope you can make room in your busy holiday schedules to see out the year on this sociable ride with your Solihull champions.

See you soon,

Chris and Elaine

Meet the Champions

  • Christine Robbins
Christine Robbins Hi, I'm Chris and I've loved cycling since I was a kid- I can still remember the excitement of getting a brand new red and blue bike at my seventh birthday party and riding it round the garden non-stop, ignoring all my little guests! These days I love the sense of freedom being out on two wheels brings- you just forget everything and enjoy the fresh air and the scenery. The great thing about the Breeze rides is that we always take time to stop for a coffee and a chat and it's a brilliant way to meet some new friends. Fun, friends, freedom and it's free.....hope you'll join us soon!
  • Elaine Slatter
Elaine Slatter Hi my name is Elaine and I am a Sky and Breeze ride leader. I have always been quite a sporty, outdoors type but my passion has changed from the gym and walking to cycling in the last year. I signed up to the cycle to work scheme last February and started commuting to work. I soon started to feel all the benefits of a daily dose of exercise and fresh air and found a local women only cycle club who I could ride with a few times a week. After nine months of cycling I’m proud to say I managed my first 100 miler. Now i’m happy to encourage other people and I think both Sky and Breeze are fantastic incentives to get people out cycling, whatever your level. I look forward to meeting you on one of the rides. Elaine
  • Julie Harvey
Julie Harvey Hi, my name is Julie I have enjoyed cycling for many years. I have been on some lovely family cycling holidays to Holland and last year cycled around Lake Constance in Switzerland, Austria & Germany, which was beautiful! I love to be outside in the fresh air particularly after a day in the office. I really love the freedom of getting out on my bike, I discovered Breeze last July & have become completely hooked, I love everything about Breeze. I have met some wonderful like minded ladies & made some lovely friends, we progressed together last summer and in October we had our first cycling weekend away together, we covered 100 miles in 2 days. We are now planning another challenge for this year. I decided to train to become a Breeze champion because I want to help other ladies discover the joy of Breeze, we are lucky to have some beautiful countryside & lots of lovely quiet lanes around Solihull. Oh and there is ALWAYS cake and a cuppa at the end of our rides! So if you like cycling, chatting and cake then Breeze is for you! So whatever your cycling ability come and join us for a fun, friendly bike ride.
  • Sue Palmer
Sue Palmer Hi my name is Sue and I am a Breeze/Sky ride leader. I have been cycling now for 7 years but in the last couple of years more regularly. In 2011 I completed my first 100mile in a day it took 7hrs 13mins with 3 coffee stops, the feeling at the end was awesome in 2012 I also completed 10 sportives over the summer months and another 100mile. I am now looking forward to passing on the knowledge I have gained and encouraging others to get the enjoyment from cycling that I do. I am a qualified National Standards Cycle Instructor and am working with students around the Solihull borough. So why not come and join us on the many varied and friendly rides that we do in the pretty country lanes, parks/cycle paths and canal towpaths in and around Midlands.
