Breeze Bike Rides in Wolverhampton

Join us for a leg pumping cycle up and down some Staffordshire lanes. This is a 20-25 mile circular jaunt through undulating Staffordshire lanes starting and finishing at the car park at Wombourne Railway (Signposted South Staffordshire Railway Walk Café - nearest post code WV5 8DW.

The ride will start at 11.00am so please arrive by 10.45am.

Lunch will be at the picturesque Patshull Hotel and Golf Club. The return leg involves more ups, downs and possible splashes.

This ride is mainly on quiet country lanes. It suits road, hybrids and lighter mountain bikes. It is advisable that you wear a cycle helmet and cycling clothing appropriate for winter riding to keep warm and dry. Please bring equipment with you to repair a puncture (just in case).

Estimated cycling time 2 1/2hours. Estimated ride finish 2.30pm

Nervous on roads? This would be an ideal opportunity to gain some confidence by cycling with a group.

When booking please provide a contact number in case the ride has to be cancelled due to weather conditions (icy and/or snow). The ride goes ahead if cold and/or rainy.

    Leah Coles I have always enjoyed riding a bike for pleasure and in my student days way, way back in the 70s even used a bike as a method of transport around London. Now at the age of 58 nothing beats a ride out into the countryside. It is the best way of triggering all the senses and a fantastic way to keep fit. So I would love to encourage others to ride a bike so you also can become passionate about it and spread the word.

    Mary McAdam Hi, I'm Mary and I've always enjoyed cycling, whether it was wandering off to explore as a child, being a hard up student, a mum doing 'something different' with young children or trying to get some 'me' time. However, I was a fairweather-traffic free-slow rides only with lots of stops- cyclist who didn't understand the concept of changing gears (having driven automatic cars for many years) or that you could change the saddle on your bike if it was Really Uncomfortable...

    All that changed when I joined a local cycle club. With lots of help, advice and encouragement I have gained confidence and had many experiences and adventures (usually with overloaded panniers...). I'm now a Bikeability Instructor, I volunteer for the Leap Over 50 Cycling Programme with AgeUK in Dudley and best of all, I have an encyclopaedic knowledge of all the cafes within a 50 mile radius of Stourbridge!

    I'd like to encourage more women to get on their bikes; to improve their cycle skills so they can ride safely and confidently; to get to know the local area and most of all, to gain a fantastic circle of like-minded friends. All are welcome - from the Totally Terrified to the Extremely Experienced. Looking forward to seeing you soon!
