Overall Duration On a long ride, it’s sometimes good to have a little break in the middle, or maybe a catch up at the beginning or end to keep it sociable. This means that the overall ride duration may be longer than the actual cycling time.

Breeze Bike Rides in High Peak

This is just a short road ride (approx 12 miles) up the valley to join the throngs in Castleton admiring the Christmas lights!

As it will be quite gloomy/dark, you will need to have good lights on your bike, ideally a bright jacket and be used to riding in the dark. It is also along the main road so you need to be confident riding in traffic.

Wearing a helmet is advisable although you can still come if you don't have one. Reindeer antlers, fairy lights and tinsel are optional although would be welcomed along with lots of Ho Ho Ho's!

Lots of warm layers and gloves are a really good idea because the weather could be freezing by then!

Bring some change so that we have the option of stopping for a mince pie if they haven't already all been eaten by that time.

We'll meet on Oddfellows Road at the entrance to the swimming pool. There's a pay and display car park across the road and even some free on street parking if you are lucky.

Why not come and burn off just a few calories in preparation for the big day!

Meet the Champions

  • Christine Dicken
Christine Dicken I've been riding on and off for about 12 years, initially for commuting and now purely for pleasure and exercise. I'm not the fastest or the fittest but I get there in the end and enjoy the journey! My cycling habits have been curtailed over the last few years following the birth of my son but I'm thrilled that he now has developed a love of cycling and I hope to help other women to enjoy cycling and encourage their children too.
