Breeze Bike Rides in Leicester

Join our Breeze Champions Linda and Lindsey on this leisurely Belles & Baubles Breeze Ride from Watermead Park to Abbey Park and then back again.

We will set off at 10.30am from the Woolly Mammoth car park at Watermead Park and then cycle alongside the River Soar, passing by Belgrave Hall, Abbey Pumping Station and the National Space Centre as we ride towards Abbey Park. When we reach Abbey Park we'll rendezvous at Abbey Park Café with two other Belles & Baubles Breeze rides and enjoy a well-earned hot drink and mince pie.

This festive ride will follow a traffic free route and will be suitable for all, perfect for beginners and anyone who has not been on a bike for a while. We really welcome newcomers to our rides.

We recommend helmets for adults, but they're not compulsory. Don't worry if you don't have a helmet – why not try a couple of rides and see how you get on?

Decorated bikes and Santa outfits optional!

Hope to see you there :)

Meet the Champions

  • Lindsey Ball
Lindsey Ball I’ve owned a bicycle for as long as I remember, but I really got back into cycling after completing the Sky Ride in 2011. After the Sky Ride, I started participating in local Breeze bike rides and I eventually became a Breeze Champion myself. Thanks to Breeze, I've made some lovely friends, found cycle routes (and coffee shops) that I didn't know existed and I now ride my bike regularly for commuting and pleasure as often as I can.
  • Linda Goddard
Linda Goddard Hello, I am passionate about encouraging people to get on their bikes. I see Breeze rides and Local Skyrides as a way to do this and to provide fun at the same time. I particularly want to encourage more women to get in the saddle! Cycling is not only a way to get fit, but is also good for the environment. Think of the petrol saved! It is also a social activity, where you can make new friends and be encouraged along by other riders. My aim is to support both new and returning cyclists to gain the confidence to cycle more often. I look forward to meeting you on the rides.
