Overall Duration On a long ride, it’s sometimes good to have a little break in the middle, or maybe a catch up at the beginning or end to keep it sociable. This means that the overall ride duration may be longer than the actual cycling time.

Breeze Bike Rides in Derbyshire Dales

Our meeting point will be about half way along Coombs Road where the houses end (there is on street parking). We'll ride along to the end of Coombs Road where we will join the Monsal Trail (this is a quiet residential road). We push our bikes up the small incline onto the trail. We'll then follow the trail to Hassop Station and beyond if people are keen then retrace our route back along the trail.  This is an ideal ride for beginners or those wanting to ease themselves back into the saddle gently!

There is always the opportunity for coffee, cake and a chat at Hassop Station cafe.

The ride will go ahead whatever the weather so it's a good idea to wear comfortable clothing and lots of layers are better. Autumn has definitely arrived and with the earlier start, gloves would be a good idea!

It's a good idea to wear a helmet although if you don't have one, then don't let this put you off.

If you don't have a bike, then the new Bakewell Bike Hire shop has now opened opposite Felicini (tel 01629 815077).

Hope you can come along!

Meet the Champions

  • Christine Dicken
Christine Dicken I've been riding on and off for about 12 years, initially for commuting and now purely for pleasure and exercise. I'm not the fastest or the fittest but I get there in the end and enjoy the journey! My cycling habits have been curtailed over the last few years following the birth of my son but I'm thrilled that he now has developed a love of cycling and I hope to help other women to enjoy cycling and encourage their children too.
