Breeze Bike Rides in Cheshire West and Chester

Today’s ride will start at 10am at Hooton Railway Station. There are frequent trains from Chester, Ellesmere Port, the Wirral and Liverpool. There are great lifts at the station to get you and your bike from 1 platform to another. If you are coming by car, there is a large car park with security and it is 80p to park there all day.

From Hooton we will head towards the Welsh Road  passing through a farm and the village of Ledsham and then join the cycle path (all off road) which will take us along the River Dee and onto Chester. We will make use of Chester’s longest traffic free path. The route passes animal sculptures created out of trees, and attractive landscaped picnic area before reaching the River Dee at Hawarden Bridge. There are lots of wildlife to spot along the river Dee.

Newcomers to Breeze rides are very welcome, don't worry if you don't know anyone, we're a friendly bunch.  Dress appropriately for the weather: in cool weather it's good to wear lots of thin layers, so you can add/remove them as needed; a rain jacket is a good idea too

If you need to ask any questions please call me on 07729 114055 or email me at sara.braidwood@sky.com

Wearing a helmet is advisable; if you don’t have one please do not to worry you can still take part.  If you enjoy the bike ride and would like to come again perhaps you could look to buy one then.

Look forward to seeing you there!

Meet the Champions

  • Sara Braidwood
Sara Braidwood Hi, I am Sara Braidwood and I have been a BREEZE champion for nearly 4 years and led over 200 rides in and around Merseyside. I am 50 years old and I love being out and about on my bike and I enjoy being part of Breeze and seeing ladies enjoy the rides and come back for more. I only started cycling 5 years ago and now I cant imagine being without my bike.
  • Gillian Smith
Gillian Smith Hi ladies, welcome to Breeze! I love riding my bike and encouraging others to take up two wheels! We are a fun group that always welcome new comers and no one's ever left behind. I hope to see you on one of our Breeze rides soon!
  • Wendy Whitby
Wendy Whitby Hi, I've been mountain biking for a few years now and have recently also got into road cycling. I try to get out on my bike a few times a week. Up until a few years ago I'd hardly ever ridden a bike, so I'd like to share the joy I now get from cycling with others! Hope to see you on a bike ride soon.
  • Lesley Flowerday
Lesley Flowerday Hi I've been a Breeze Champion, for about 3 years now and have led and assisted rides around Wirral, Wales, Liverpool and Cheshire. Before that I'd cycled fairly regularly for about 20 years but usually on my own. Through Breeze I've met many new people to cycle with and, although I still cycle solo sometimes, it's great to go out as a group.
