Welcome to Richmond

Richmond upon Thames is a great place to cycle, and now there are even more opportunities to get out and about on your bike in the area.

From 7th June Richmond will be hosting a series of friendly neighbourhood Sky Ride Local rides and Breeze bike rides for women. They’re all free to join, and it’s easy to register.

Sky Ride Local rides are fun, free community bike rides that offer a great way of getting out and exploring your local area and meeting like-minded people.

Training

The Council’s team of instructors works all year round to provide cycle training to Year 5 and Year 6 pupils in all borough and some independent schools in Richmond.

Twickenham Cycling Club, in partnership with the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, are running a programme of coaching sessions, grass track and cyclo-cross cycling competitions and participation events across the borough this summer.

Where to ride

There's a good network of bike paths across Richmond and linking into the wider London cycle network. The area also benefits from some of the best outdoor spaces in London, which offer superb routes to the recreational and commuter cyclist such as the Royal Parks, River Thames and access to the countryside near South West London. The Borough Council is supportive of developing bike use and the area benefits from the Council’s commitment to improve cycling facilities and the range of cycling support available to all.
