About

Peterborough is part of the Sky Ride campaign, aiming to get one million more people riding a bike by 2013.

The area's hosting a range of Sky Ride Local rides – free small, weekly community bike rides that give you a chance to get out and explore your local area.

There are also brilliant bike maintenance workshops taking place to help you keep your wheels in great shape and ride safely and with confidence.

And look out for Breeze bike rides – fun, social, informal bike rides for women. Coming to a park or cycle path near you!

Supporting cycling in Peterborough

Peterborough is a great place to cycle! British Cycling works with Peterborough City Council to promote a range of opportunities for people to get involved with cycling whatever their age and ability. Peterborough is an Environment City. It’s also relatively flat, dry and has an extensive cycle network – so it’s a great town to ride in. The city benefits from The Green Wheel – a 50 mile trail network that covers both urban and outlying rural areas. The network is ideal for commuting, crossing the city on bike to shop or visit friends or to engage in local adventures, such as the sculpture trail.
