WIN exclusive tickets to the premiere of ‘Cycle into Work’!
Published 26 September 2012
Next week the London Bicycle Film festival comes to the Capital celebrating the world’s best invention: the bicycle!
As part of the celebrations we’ve got five pairs of exclusive tickets to give away to the premiere of ‘Cycle into Work’, to be screened on Tuesday 2 October at The Barbican Centre.
The premier will be hosted by TV presenter and Barclays cycling ambassador, Christine Bleakley and will start at 4:30pm.
The film, which is being screened as part of the Bicycle Film Festival, follows a group of disadvantage Londoners who have turned their lives around after training in the cycling industry.
The Bikeworks ‘Cycle into Work’ programme, supported by Barclays, helps disadvantaged young people gain key skills, through bicycle building and maintenance. The aim of the programme is for its graduates to move towards a better future by getting a job. The film shows how three young men from very different backgrounds did just that and how ‘Cycle into Work’ changed their lives for the better.
Since Barclays involvement with ‘Cycle into Work’ began in November 2011, 28 out of 38 trainees have successfully graduated from the programme. With almost 80 per cent of these now in full-time employment in the cycling industry, including in Barclays Cycle Hire.
