The quest for brilliant bike rides

The quest for brilliant bike rides begins with Social Cycling Groups for one bike shop in Worthing.
Quest Adventure Bike Shop in Worthing, West Sussex has been organising free mixed mountain bike rides since it opened in 2006. Then one day a customer suggested they should run women’s only mountain bike rides as well, so ladies could have the chance to ride and catch up on gossip.
With this in mind Janet and JP, owners of Quest Adventure Bike Shop started using Social Cycling Groups as a way of organising and promoting their rides. They now run two guided mountain bike rides a month, one being exclusively for women. ‘As a bike shop Social Cycling Groups is great because not everyone will know about the area, or that Quest Adventure is even here. It’s perfect for people who want to find out more information about our rides. Since we started using Social Cycling Groups we’ve had riders coming from as far as London to join our rides' says Janet.
The group explore the beautiful South Downs riding everything from good size bridleways to single tracks - returning damp, muddy and very happy. One of the best things about a Quest Adventure group ride is that they usually include a cake stop!
Ride Leader Clare and Janet work hard to promote the rides via Facebook and Twitter; Social Cycling Groups has given them another great outlet to promote their rides and the results speak for themselves. The new women’s only mountain bike rides started out with six participants, they now have 12 – 15 ladies who regularly ride together.
Quest Adventure host three Saturday bike rides a month; a women’s only mountain bike ride, a women’s only road ride and a mixed mountain bike ride - check out this great video to get a flavour of the rides and for more information visit Social Cycling Groups.
