Sky Ride returns to Bournemouth

Sky Ride Bournemouth today saw 1,500 cyclists brave the less-than-summery conditions to enjoy a well organised event set against a rich tapestry of entertainment in Meyrick Park.
The 6km route took in the lower gardens, town centre – and, for the first year, the seafront.
'Sky Ride Bournemouth has been great fun,' said British Cycling's Clive Copeland. 'We didn't quite get the weather we might have hoped for, but it was a great way for families to come and enjoy Bournemouth on traffic-free streets.'
Go-Ride Racing gave youngsters the chance to get a taste of racing their bikes; there were lots of Ride Leaders on hand to chat about the series of Sky Ride Local rides taking place in the area; and Sky Sports News made several broadcasts from the event during the day.
