Our final photography competition captures the joy of cycling
Published 10 January 2013
We’re delighted to present the winners of British Cycling’s final themed photography competition. All three winners captured the joy of cycling in a different way...
In third place was Peter Overy with a photo of his stepdaughter Aggie (above). After learning to ride her bike, Aggie soon realised that riding downhill is really fun; and with great skill Peter managed to capture this joyful moment (before jumping out of the way!). Congratulations Peter and enjoy your prize – a fantastic Rouleur Annual Volume 5.
In second place was Adrienne Horne with a wonderful photo (above) of five women reaching the top of a challenging hill on the Isle of Wight. Adrienne and her friends are Breeze champions and can usually be found leading fun, relaxing bike rides for women. In December 2012 they decided to try something different and entered the Wiggle Wight Winter Sportive. Adrienne has won a limited edition Il Soigneur musette, ideal for carrying all her cycling essentials.
Finally, to reveal the winner for the ‘celebrating the joy of cycling’ theme – congratulations go to Julie Hill. Julie captured this fantastic photograph (above) just as her friend finished the Etape Pennines Sportive last October. It was a beautiful day and after a gruelling nine hours on the bike, she had just enough energy to celebrate her achievement. Julie captured this moment brilliantly; congratulations and enjoy your prize – a Vulpine merino wool cycling jersey.
Congratulations to Julie, Adrienne and Peter from everyone at British Cycling!
