Now available: the exclusive Henry Holland women's cycling jacket
Published 1 October 2011
Celebrated British designer Henry Holland has teamed up with Sky Ride to design a limited edition cycling jacket aimed at giving women something stylish yet practical whether they are cycling to work or heading out with friends.
The exclusive jacket has been designed to appeal to fashion-conscious women on the move who want to maintain a strong sense of individual style in their day to day lives, whether they’re on or off their bike. The design incorporates a fun polka dot motif using reflective inks making the jacket highly visible, whilst still being synonymous with the House of Holland. Available in two sizes, the jacket is now available to buy here via our online retail partner Going Going Bike, priced at £35.
At present three times more men cycle for fun than women but we want to change that. Through the Sky Ride partnership and bespoke initiatives for women such as the Breeze network, we're encouraging women to get back on their bikes, cycle all year round and close that gap.
Henry Holland said of the collaboration: “A lot of my female friends cycle every day and have been telling me for ages there was a real gap in the market for an item of clothing that would take them from their bike to a social engagement without having to change their outfit. I hope they’re pleased with my latest creation and feel they can look fabulous on two wheels whatever time of day or year, wherever they happen to be going.”
Made of waterproof rip-stop fabric to protect cyclists from the elements, the jacket has a functional yet fashionable shape with a Peter Pan collar and some subtle, feminine rouching on the sleeves. With a cut that is fitted around the shoulders with a more trapeze line in the body and a box pleat below the yolk in the back, the jacket is suitable for even the most fashion conscious.
All proceeds from the sale of this jacket will go back in to supporting the future of cycling.
