Meet Janet at Sky Ride Leicester
Published 23 August 2011

Joining us at Sky Ride Leicester this Sunday? It’s a great chance to find out more about cycling for fun in and around the city. Pop to the Bike Cafe and chat to Janet Hudson, British Cycling’s Recreational Cycling Manager for the East Midlands.
Janet (pictured above) is working with the local council and community groups to promote chances to ride across the area. She'll be happy to answer questions about joining a cycling club, finding out about bike maintenance, the Breeze network of women-only rides, Go-Ride and Go-Ride Racing for young people, as well as how you can join British Cycling.
Janet says: "My love of cycling developed from holidays in France, initially gentle rides through the countryside to more recently tackling some of the Tour De France’s famous climbs – one at a time I hasten to add, rather than several in a day! This year, I've completed the Tour of Flanders and the Dunwich Dynamo, both are large participation events, which is a new experience for me, undertaken on both occasions with a group of friends. Both were incredibly memorable, including the swim in the north sea following the Dunwich Dynamo!
"I'm really looking forward to Sky Ride Leicester. It's a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the city and its people. We've got loads of activities for people of all ages to try, ranging from the excitement of Go-Ride Racing to testing yourself on the Watt Bikes, or even a spot of Roller Racing. And we've got a fabulous family area on Abbey Park which will be providing all sorts of exciting activities for kids. See you there!"
Register to join us at Sky Ride Leicester on Sunday 28th August.
