Published 28 June 2012
Sky Ride Manchester on Sunday 15 July is going to be a great opportunity to join in a huge traffic-free bike ride – but even if you don't want to join the ride, there's plenty to do on the day.
There'll be a range of entertainment all around the route, with Activity Areas at the Etihad Stadium and Castlefield, from 10.00am until 4.00pm for everyone who wants to enjoy the atmosphere without getting on a bike.
With BMX displays, an Art Attack area, great food and our Bike Cafe there's loads for the whole family to do. Also there will be bike repairs, Flat Land BMX and Granny Turismo.
There's also a chance to experience velodrome cycling with a taster session at the National Cycling Centre. Find out more and book a place. BMX taster sessions will also be available. Contact Sian Perry on 0161 223 2244 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
There'll also be a chance for youngsters to have a go at racing their bikes. Go-Ride Racing is British Cycling's exciting entry level competition programme which offers local competition for novice cyclists under the age of 16, helping young people make a gradual transition into competitive cycling. There'll be free races taking place throughout the day at Sky Ride Manchester, and they're all aimed at novice racing cyclists.
Don't forget if you'd like to join the ride, you can register for free here and be in with a chance of winning some great prizes.
