Loads to do at Sky Ride Edinburgh
Published 4 September 2012
Sky Ride Edinburgh on Saturday 8 September is going to be a great opportunity to enjoy traffic-free cycling through the city – but even if you don't want to join the ride, there's plenty to do on the day.
At Holyrood Park you can admire amazing BMX and mountainbike stunt demonstrations, enjoy a coffee at the British Cycling Bike Cafe, and find out about local cycling opportunities and some of our British cycling stars. Kids can decorate their Sky Ride bibs in the Art Attack area, where presenter Lloyd will be on hand to offer tips and help. There'll also be a chance to grab some Highland Spring Water and Soreen maltloaf to keep you going.
If you're under sixteen there's also a great chance for youngsters to have a go at racing their bikes. Go-Ride Racing is British Cycling's exciting entry level competition programme which offers local competition for novice cyclists under the age of 16, helping young people make a gradual transition into competitive cycling. There'll be free races taking place throughout the day in Holyrood Park, and they're all aimed at novice racing cyclists.
There'll also be live music throughout the day, and another coffee spot, at Dunsapie Loch.
