Go social with your cycling in 2013
Published 16 January 2013
If you want to get out on your bike more often this year, why not make it easy and fun with British Cycling’s social network for cycling?
Social Cycling Groups is a great way to connect with other cyclists in your local area, find a place to ride and enjoy a social bike ride at a level and time that suits you.
So far over 13,000 people have joined the network and hundreds of social bike rides have taken place across the country – everything from pootles around the park to challenging charity bike rides.
Wondering how to get started? Here’s a few tips to get you going:
Register online and fill in your profile – A friendly profile (like the one below) with a photo, short description of yourself and ride preferences will help you find new cycling buddies.
Explore what’s online – Spend a little time searching for groups and rides in your local area. There may be something happening this weekend!
Arrange your own bike ride – Can’t find the ideal bike ride for you? Arrange your own ride and encourage other cyclists from the local area to join you.
