Five tips for using Social Cycling Groups
Published 8 June 2012
New to Social Cycling Groups? Here are five great tips to get you started...
1. Pimp your profile!
Be sure to add plenty of detail to your profile as it will help you buddy up with like-minded cyclists in your area. What do you love about cycling? Where do you like to ride? And don’t be afraid to add a photo. This could be of you, your bike or even something completely un-cycling related!
2. Buddy up
Social Cycling Groups is social networking for cyclists – a place to find like-minded riders to get out and cycle with. Click on ‘Buddies’ and search using a name or your location in ‘Find a new buddy’. Found someone similar to you that lives just down the road? Why not add them?
3. Search for rides
Click on ‘Ride Finder’, enter your location first and then click on the types of rides you're interested in, whether that's Social Cycling Groups, Breeze or Sky Ride. The ride type is selected when it's highlighted in blue with a tick next to it. Click on ‘Get results’ and book onto some great rides.
4. Join a group
Joining a Social Cycling Group has lots of benefits – you can stay informed of all rides organised by that group and talk to existing group members and potential buddies. Click on ‘Groups’ or ‘Find a Group’ and search using your location or group name.
5. Tell your friends
Enjoying lots of Social Cycling Groups rides or thinking or organising your own? Why not tell a friend by sending them a link to goskyride.com where they can register and ride with you for free. The more the merrier!
