British Cycling joins in the Bradford Mela

Bradford Mela

British Cycling is joining in the celebrations at the world famous Bradford Mela, helping everyone find out more about cycling opportunities in Bradford.

Dan Goodey, British Cycling Recreation Manager for Yorkshire said: "I'm excited to bring our message to this amazing event. Together with local British Cycling Ride Leaders we'll be promoting the Sky Ride campaign in Bradford. This includes the Bradford Sky Ride city event on the 31st July – which also takes place in and around Peel Park. And a whole series of free Sky Ride Local rides taking place every Sunday this summer. Visitors can also ask us about bike maintenance workshops in the city, and opportunities for local companies to get involved in the Sky Ride campaign. If you’re coming down to the Mela and want to find out more about riding bikes for fun in Bradford – come and see us in the sports zone."

Visitors to the British Cycling stand are invited to try out the Wattbike challenge – and see if they are as fast or powerful as Olympic gold medal winning cyclist Sir Chris Hoy!

The Bradford Mela is in Peel Park, Bradford on Sunday 12th June 10am – 8pm. Entrance is free.
