Bradford's cycling summer

Woman and girl

This summer Bradford is alive with cycling events and opportunities. So if you’ve been inspired by Sky Ride to get back on your bike, why not check out these fantastic events from Bradford’s many cycling partners?

2nd July: CycleFest at Robert Park, Saltaire. Tons of stuff going on at this family cycling day held at a newly re-furbished park on the River Aire and Leeds-Liverpool Canal. Everyone welcome.

17th July: Bronte BIGK CyKlesportive and ‘Race the Train’ Keighley. In aid of Sue Ryder Care at Manorlands, this varies from the 4.8 mile challenge to beat the KWVR train from Keighley to Oxenhope through a series of road routes, to the 88 mile 21-classic climb challenge that has been described as one of the toughest in Britain. The route is designed to take in many of Bradford's most high-profile sights and also to enable supporters (family and friends) to travel via train and bike to watch and cheer on the riders.

17th July: Ilkley to Selby women’s charity ride. 100 women are cycling 100 miles and raising £100 or more each in sponsorship for Marie Curie Cancer Care Bradford. The ride starts at JD Cycles, Nelson Road, Ilkley, LS29 8HN at 7.30am for slower riders and 8.30am for faster riders.

24th July: Family Cycle Day at East Riddlesden Hall in Keighley. Part of the National Trust’s Cycling Week. Sky Ride Local rides are also scheduled to start from East Riddlesden Hall on the 24th July.

27th July: Keighley Gate Hill Climb Challenge. A fun challenge for riders and runners to climb this classic hill onto Ilkley Moor, and a great social event in aid of the haematology and oncology day unit (HODU) at Airedale General Hospital. From The Busfield Arms, East Morton, nr. Keighley at 6.30pm. The winner is the one nearest their estimated time, not the quickest!

31st July: Sky Ride Bradford!
