Sky Ride City events are big free bike rides where everyone’s invited – however you ride.

Sky Ride Local rides are fun, free community bike rides that offer a great way of getting out and exploring your local area and meeting like-minded people.

The Breeze network from British Cycling is all about fun, local bike rides for women, by women – and there’s a whole range of support and training too.

Social Cycling Groups is a new programme that encourages people to get together, find a place to ride and enjoy a bike ride at a level and time that suits you.

Behind the scenes at Sky Ride Local

Lots of people have been asking us when this year's Sky Ride Local programme of free, fun, organised bike rides will start. We're really excited about bringing you another programme of rides across the country – including some brand new locations. In a few weeks we'll be announcing the areas we'll be riding in this year.

Meanwhile, we thought you might be interested to hear about some of the work that goes on behind the scenes to bring you Sky Ride Local. So we took a peek behind the scenes at British Cycling headquarters to ask Route & Ride Manager Craig Myers just how busy things are in this crucial period of planning and preparation for the 2012 programme...

Whatever your age or ability, and whatever kind of bike you ride, we've created a whole range of ways for you to get involved. From big traffic-free events in towns and cities, to local neighbourhood rides; from women-only bike rides and support, to routes and workshops; there's something for everyone.
