The British Cycling and Sky partnership
Published 24 March 2012
In 2008 British Cycling and Sky got together to form a long-term partnership, to support our best athletes to achieve even greater success and inspire more people to get on their bikes for fun and fitness.
And what a journey it’s been! Together we've supported British cyclists in winning eight Olympic golds at London 2012, propelled Team Sky and Bradley Wiggins to a historic Tour de France victory, and used our Sky Ride programme to give thousands of Britons the chance to ride safely on traffic-free roads. As a result, hundreds of thousand of people have been inspired to get on their bikes, putting us well on the way to our goal of one million more cyclists. Who knows, some of them could even become the stars of the future. And as the partnership is set to continue to Rio and beyond, they'll have every chance to inspire you again.
