There's no bike ride like a themed bike ride...

Autumn cycling

Autumn is our favourite time of year for riding bikes. Crisp mornings, the smell of bonfires, the gorgeous colours... lovely! If you're looking for an extra incentive to get out on your bike though, why not organise a fab themed Breeze ride? Read on for inspiration (and some festive treats!)...

What exactly have we got in mind? Well we're planning to get some brilliant themed rides running across three autumn weekends. They are:

29th-30th October 2011 – Halloween
It’s not just for the kids! How about a fun themed Breeze bike ride? Bring the kids along in their fancy dress outfits! As a thank you for planning your rides for this weekend and sending us a photo and/or a quote to tell us how it went, Breeze champions will receive a goody bag including a Halfords £10 voucher to help with the Christmas shopping! The Guisborough Ghost Ride in the North East is a great example.

November – Radical women
All through November we’re celebrating ‘Radical Women’ from the Suffragettes to everyday cycling pioneers who’ve used the bicycle to help change women’s lives. Do you remember your Gran or Aunt riding to work, the shops or beyond? We’d love to hear your stories. And why not check out the Cycles and Suffragettes event in Leicester on 5th November – we can't wait!

10/11th December –  Christmas
Christmas is coming and the goose is getting fat... if you're worried about putting on the Christmas pounds too, why not plan a seasonal bike ride to get you and your friends out and about? Perhaps a themed Santa ride with a fab cafe stop or a trip to your local Christmas markets (what a great excuse for combining a bike ride with mulled wine and shopping!). Again, as a special thank you, every Breeze champion who delivers a themed bike ride anytime this weekend and sends us in a photo and/or a quote to tell us how it went will receive a special Christmas gift from the Breeze team!
