Champions ride for charity
Published 5 September 2012
On the 22nd September 2012, Breeze champions Claire Kennedy and Fiona Tyler will be taking part in the London to Brighton Off Road Cycle Ride.
Claire and Fiona are part of Team Flamin' Dynamos alongside seven other keen cyclists. They will be cycling 75 miles almost entirely off road. It's a challenging and testing route, mixing cycle path, single track cycling with forest tracks. It's London to Brighton but off road, the challenge is about endurance with one killer hill, along with some tricky fun down hills.
Claire commutes to work daily on a 7 mile ride and is a Breeze champion in Milton Keynes and loves being out on her bike. Claire regularly enters the Cycletta events including Whipsnade in 2011 and Cycletta Bedfordshire this year.
Fiona is from Berkhampstead and cycles with Claire on a Wednesday evening as a Breeze champion. She is a keen family rider with her husband and two daughters.
Team Flamin' Dynamos are raising money for Breeze’s charity partner, the British Heart Foundation. All money raised will be generously matched by Santander, Claire and Fiona’s employer.
Claire explains ‘My dad had a heart attack over ten years ago and had to undergo a double bypass. The support from the BHF was amazing. My parents have supported a British Heart Foundation group at Bletchley ever since and they are a great group, supportive and work so hard for the members they support. The work effort the people put in for the group is amazing. All to help people like my Dad who suffered and then had the support after. I’m doing this ride for BHF as I’ve seen the great work they do first hand’.
If you would like to support Team Flamin’ Dynamos, you can sponsor them at their JustGiving page.
