Welcome to Blackpool
Blackpool is a great place to cycle, and now there are even more opportunities to get out and about on your bike in the area.
This year Blackpool is hosting a big Sky Ride City event (Ride the Lights), a series of friendly neighbourhood Sky Ride Local rides, Breeze bike rides for women, and more. They’re all free to join, and it’s easy to register.
Join us for a fantastic traffic-free bike ride through Blackpool where everyone's invited.
Sky Ride Local rides are fun, free community bike rides that offer a great way of getting out and exploring your local area and meeting like-minded people.

Where to ride
There are a number of amazing routes and venues in the Blackpool area to help you make the most of your cycling experience – there really is something for everyone. For more details on rides, routes, clubs and much more see the Blackpool Borough Council website.
The Cycle Blackpool website is also great source of invaluable information.
In 2011 two fantastic new cycling facilities were built in Blackpool:
1km closed circuit road race track at Palatine Sports Centre
National standard BMX track in Stanley Park
There's some great on- and off-road riding in the North West, , from the Trough of Bowland in Lancashire to rugged off road trails in the Lake District. Add to this a well-developed network of leisure routes on the flatter coastal area and it's clear that the North West offers a great escape for everyone.
Check out British Cycling's guide to where to ride in the North West.
Sustrans has also got some great easy rides in Lancashire.
